Question 01:  What is true happiness of life in Buddhism?

Answer 01:    True happiness of life in Buddhism is these high qualities:  True sincerity, purity of mind, equality, proper understanding, compassion, see through, let go, freedom, accord with conditions, be mindful of Amitabha Buddha.  I think these great qualities should be true happiness of life for every human being too.  You can look at this picture to know about true happiness of life in Buddhism:

There are pictures of two Vietnamese vertical banners that are about true happiness of life in Buddhism are:

Q 02:  Is wishing to become a Buddha real?

A 02:  Yes, becoming a Buddha can be a reality. Anyone specifically or any sentient beings generally who practice Pure Land Buddhism the right way can become a Buddha. Practicing Pure Land Buddhism is easy and any sentient beings can practice easily.

Q 03:  Practicing Pure Land Buddhism is a way to get people into Buddhism.

A 03:  There are other ways to get people into Buddhism like:  Spreading the Dharma, live and practice Buddhism, teaching people how to practice meditation, etc.  But like Shakyamuni Buddha preached: "Anyone has freedom to choose their belief or religion.  Following Buddhism is not a requirement, only when he or she realize the wisdom from Buddhism, he or she then can take refuge in the Triple Gem." Other names of the Triple Gem are the Three Jewels or the Three Treasures.  The Triple Gems are:  The Buddha, The Dharma and The Sangha.

A 04:  Whoever practices Pure Land Buddhism or mainly reciting Amitabha Buddha's names will have the following benefits

Of these ten benefits, the first nine can change the difficult life you are now living to a smooth and peaceful one, while the tenth benefit frees you from the revolving wheel of birth and death.

Q 05:  According to Pure Land Buddhism, how do humans relate to one another?

A 05:  Every human is treated equally as Amitabha Buddha preached.  Everyone can practice Pure Land Buddhism regardless who they are.  Shakyamuni Buddha preached:  "I use my Buddha's Eyes and see that most human-beings have at least one time to be a parent (father or mother) of another in the cycles of death and rebirth."  The cycles of death and rebirth is also call the circles of life or Samsara.

Q 06:  How is Pure Land Buddhism different than regular Buddhism?

A 06:  I don't know your question clearly.  Regular Buddhism may be different depending on various countries and traditions, for example:  Tibetan Buddhism, Vietnamese Buddhism, Indonesian Buddhism, Chinese Buddhism, Taiwanese Buddhism, etc.  Generally there are two main types of Buddhism:  Theravada Buddhism is a branch of Buddhism in the old time.  Mahayana Buddhism is a different branch of Buddhism or modern-day Buddhism.  Pureland Buddhism or Pure Land Buddhism belongs to Mahayana Buddhism most recently.  In very long time ago, when Shakyamuni Buddha was still living on earth and a period of time after that, Monks keep precepts to get out of cycles of death and rebirth.  After that period of time, people practice meditation to get out of cycles of death and rebirth.  Nowadays, people practice Pure Land Buddhism to get out of cycles of death and rebirth.

Q 07:  Benefits of reciting Amitabha Buddha's name?

A 07:  You can see A 04 for Q 04 above or go to the homepage for the answer to your question.

Q 08:  Important things in Pure Land Buddhism?

A 08:  You can know the important things in Pure Land Buddhism by viewing this page:  http://truehappiness.ws/Pure-Land_Buddhism_section.htmlMost of the meaningful concepts in Pure Land Buddhism are preached in these two Sutras by Shakyamuni Buddha:

BUDDHA SPEAKS OF AMITABHA SUTRA and

BUDDHA SPEAKS OF AMITAYUS SUTRA  - THE LARGER SUKHAVATI VYUHA

The most important things in Pure Land Buddhism practice are Faith, Vows and Practice.  These three factors are the cornerstones of Pure Land Buddhism.  If you miss any one of these three factors, you couldn't be born in Western Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha.  You can view this page for more reference:  http://truehappiness.ws/Faith_Vows_and_Practice.html

Q 09:  Pictures of Buddha and his teaching.

A 09:  You can see Buddha's pictures in the Picture section of this website.  You can see His many essential teachings in this website.

Q 10:  Which Buddha is not good for home?

A 10:  Every Buddha is good for home.  Every Buddha's teachings are the same to the smallest details even though they were born in various worlds in different periods of time.  There are three most popular Buddhas who Shakyamuni Buddha often preached in the Sutras.  They are:  Shakyamuni Buddha or the Buddha of this earth.  He was born in India as a Prince about 2,500 years ago.  Every Sutra we know is preached by Him.  Amitabha Buddha is the Buddha of Western Pure Land.  He made 48 Great Vow so that every sentient being who practice Pure Land Buddhism will be born in His Land and become a Buddha.  He is mentioned mainly in these two Sutras:  BUDDHA SPEAKS OF AMITABHA SUTRA and BUDDHA SPEAKS OF AMITAYUS SUTRA - THE LARGER SUKHAVATI VYUHA.  Medicine Buddha is the Buddha of Eastern Pure Land.  He made 12 Great Vows to help countless sentient-beings. He is mentioned mostly in the Medicine Sutras.  Some Sutras said that there are 10,000 Buddhas.  You don't need to put every Buddha's statues or pictures in your home.  The best Buddha's statue that you can put in your home is Shakyamuni Buddha's statue for your Buddhism practices.  The best Buddha's statue that you can put in your home is Amitabha Buddha's statue for your Pure Land Buddhism practices.

Q 11:  When will you get old Amitabha?

A 11:  Amitabha or Amitabha Buddha never gets old or dies.  He lives forever in His Western Pure Land.  Residents of Western Pure Land like Saints, Bodhisattvas, etc. also live eternally.

Q 12:  How many Buddhas can you have in a home?

A 12:  You can have as many or as few Buddha's statues or pictures in your home.  You have to respect and don't look down to every single Buddha's statue or Buddha's picture.  If you do, you will have very bad karmas.  You can see the answer to the question:  "Which Buddha is not good for home?" above for more references.

Q 13:  How can I experience true happiness in Buddhism?

A 13:  To experience true happiness in Buddhism you have to do good deeds and don't do evil deeds as Shakyamuni Buddha taught in the Sutras.  If you do good deeds you will be happy from good karma, if you do bad deeds you will suffer from bad karma.  You must have a Bodhi-mindIf you don't have a Bodhi-mind, all of merits and virtues of your practices in Buddhism will be lost.  The best Bodhi-mind is making a great vow to be born in Pure Land and practice Pure Land until you will be born in Amitabha Buddha's Land.  Practicing Pure Land is the greatest wisdom, the best time-saving, effort-saving for your spiritual practice endeavor.  You have to purify your mind and practice meditation regularly.  You can see the answer to the question "What is true happiness of life in Buddhism?" for more references.

Q 14:  Amitabha Buddha pictures and Pure Land Pictures.

A 14:  You can view Amitabha Buddha pictures in the Picture page of this website.  Here are some pictures of Pure Land:

        Q 15:  How can I become a Buddhist?

A 15:  When you want to become a Buddhist, congratulations, you have a great decision and wisdom.  To become a Buddhist is to take refuge in the Three Jewels, also called the Three Treasures. The Three Jewels are the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.  Buddha is Shakyamuni Buddha.  Dharma is a short word for Buddhadharma and Dharma is what Shakyamuni Buddha taught.  Sangha is general name for Buddhist Monks and Buddhist Nuns.  When you become a Buddhist, you have to keep the five precepts:  1.  No killing, 2.  No stealing, 3. No telling a lie, 4.  No sexual misconduct and 5.  No drinking alcohol and say no to drugs.  Compared to the 10 precepts that a novice Monk has to keep, 250 precepts a Bhikkhu has to keep and 348 precepts a Bhikkhuni has to keep, 5 precepts are not much at all.

In Vietnamese tradition, you have to go to a temple or monastery to see a Senior Monk or a Venerable.  You have to take appointment with him so he can arrange you and some other people who also want to become a Buddhist to meet him at a formal ceremony.  A formal ceremony might be small if there are only several persons who want to become a Buddhist.  At that formal ceremony, the Venerable explains the 5 precepts you have to keep with small exceptions, ask you whether you want to keep the 5 precepts to become a Buddhist.  If you agree he will certify that you now then become a Buddhist.  He will give each of you a specific Buddhist name and send you a certification later to certify that you are a Buddhist.

If you live far away from temples or monasteries, you may do the followings to become a Buddhist:  You have to take a bath or a shower, wear clean clothes, kneel in a quiet place and imagine the Three Jewels in front of you, put your hands together as a lotus shape then recite like this:

From now on, I take refuge in the Buddha.

I take refuge in the Dharma.

I take refuge in the Sangha.

Then you bow the imaginary Three Jewels in front of you three times.

Become a real Buddhist need commitments or devotions.  But everything you do as a Buddhist is very well worth.  If you don't know how I will show you, I will also show you how to make an altar at home, how to chant and how to improve as a Buddhist.

Q 16:  What do Pure Land Buddhist do?

A 16:  This is the first time I hear the phrase "Pure Land Buddhist".  You don't need to become a Buddhist to practice Pure Land.  Everyone can practice Pure Land Buddhism to be born in the Western Pure Land or "Western Paradise" of Amitabha Buddha.  I think Pure Land Buddhist beside doing Buddhist's chores, he or she also practice Pure Land and transfer all the merits that he or she gain from Buddhist's devotions to have much better opportunity to be born in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha.

        Q 17:  Amitabha Buddha's name.

A 17:  You can call Amitabha Buddha in two ways:  Amitabha or Amitabha Buddha.  I prefer to call "Him" Amitabha Buddha because this name sounds more respectful to Him and meaning that "He" is a Buddha and His name is Amitabha.  The Sanskrit name of Amitabha Buddha is "Amitābha".   "Amitābha" is translatable as "Infinite Light", hence Amitābha is often called "The Buddha of Infinite Light".

"Amitābha" in Vietnamese means A-di-đà Phật or Phật A-di-đà, meaning Buddha of Infinite Light (Boundless Light) and Infinite Life, đức Phật Vô Lượng Thọ và Vô Lượng Quang.

"Amitābha" in Korean means Amit'a Bul.

"Amitābha" in Japanese means Amida Butsu.

        "Amitābha" in Chinese means Amituofo.

The name "Amitābha" is pronounced or recited slightly different in the above country.

Q 18:  How to recite Amitabha Buddha's name?

A 18:  You can recite Amitabha Buddha's name in three different ways:

Amitabha:  Less respectful way to recite Amitabha Buddha's name.  Hence less merits gain by reciting "His" name as compared to these three ways.

Amitabha Buddha:  Respectful way to recite Amitabha Buddha's name.  Hence more merits gain by reciting His name as compared to these three ways.

Namo Amitabha Buddha:  Most respectful way to recite Amitabha Buddha's name. The word "Namo" means showing respect to Amitabha Buddha.  Most merits gain by reciting His name as compared to these three ways.

The correct ways to recite Amitabha Buddha's name so you will be born in the Pure Land, especially when you are in front of a Amitabha Buddha's small statue and the altar, are the followings:

        1.  You must recite Amitabha Buddha's name slowly, not fast.  Paying attention to quality more than quantity.

        2.  You must get rid of any wandering thoughts, don't think about anything except listening to Amitabha Buddha's names that you are reciting.  Reciting Amitabha Buddha's name is the same as meditation, your mind is very clear.  But reciting Amitabha Buddha's name is the highest method and the perfect method of all kind of meditations.

        3.  You must be able to hear every single name of Amitabha Buddha that you are reciting or repeating clearly.  None of every single name of Amitabha Buddha is mixed together.

        4.  While reciting Amitabha Buddha's names, you must have great ambition, great passion to be born in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha so that you can have tremendous powers to fulfil your vow(s) to save all sentient beings.

You also have to usually recite Amitabha Buddha's name many times.  Reciting Amitabha Buddha's name is a kind of meditation.  Any thoughts that you have are unreal.  Your mind is unreal even though you have real mind or Buddha mind (also called Buddha nature) inside or below it.  No one can remember anything from this life when he or she pass away then born in the next life.  When you reciting Amitabha Buddha's name many times, you will have more opportunity to see and experience your real mind or Buddha nature much better.

You can recite or repeat Amitabha Buddha's names in your language or any other languages.  All of these ways are the same "meditation".  All of these ways have the same effect and have the same merits gain to be born in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha.  Don't worry because Buddha can understand all of the languages in the world, about 3,000 different languages include dialects.  When you recite Amitabha Buddha's name, you recite for the benefits of the Buddha inside you, in other words:  Your Buddha Nature;  not for Amitabha Buddha.  Because you have Buddha mind or Buddha nature inside your unreal mind.  When you are not enlightened yet, you are a sentient being but when you are fully awaken or enlightened, you are a Buddha.  I use simple English to explain so I hope everybody can understand more about Pure Land Buddhism.

Q 19:  How do Pure Land Buddhists view the Buddha?

A 19:  Pure Land Buddhists view the Buddha(s) as regular Buddhists.  They view the Buddha(s) as preached in the Sutras and they all respect the Buddha(s).  Every Buddha's teachings is the same to the smallest details even though they were born in different worlds in different period of time.  There are three most regular Buddhas that Shakamuni Buddha often preached in the Sutras.  They are:  Shakyamuni Buddha or the Buddha of this earth.  He was born in India as a Prince about 2,500 years ago.  Every Sutras we know is preached by Him.  Amitabha Buddha is the Buddha of Western Pure Land.  He made 48 Great Vow so that every sentient-beings who practice Pure Land Buddhism will be born in His Land and become a Buddha.  He is mentioned most in these two Sutras:  BUDDHA SPEAKS OF AMITABHA SUTRA and BUDDHA SPEAKS OF AMITAYUS SUTRA - THE LARGER SUKHAVATI VYUHA.  Medicine Buddha is the Buddha of Eastern Land.  He made 12 Great vows to help countless sentient-beings. He is mentioned most in the Medicine Sutras.

Q 20:  Pure Land Buddhist teachings.

A 20:  You can learn Pure Land Buddhist teachings like most of the Vietnamese Pure Land Buddhist learn in these two websites:

This is a website established by Vietnamese Buddhist community in Arizona.  Many Vietnamese Pure Land practicers, you don't need to be a Buddhist to practice Pure Land, had been born in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha by practicing with these Pure Land teachings:

        http://www.dharmaflowertemple.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&setLang=en-GB&Itemid=81

There are two websites taught by Venerable Master Chin Kung.  Many Vietnamese Pure Land practicers learn and practice by his teachings to be born in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha:

        http://www.amtb.cn/e-bud/e-bud.htm

        http://www.amtbweb.org/tchem001.htm

You can view some of Vietnamese Pure Land practicers' videos when they are ready to be born into Amitabha Buddha's Pure Land.  The videos are in the Facts:  BUDDHA's Teachings are TRUTH page of the Buddhism video section.  The scenes are real, the Pure Land practicers are real so the Pure Land are real and Amitabha Buddha are real

        Q 21:  Buddhism affiliate program

A 21:  Buddhists do their buddhists' tasks for free.  Monks and Nuns do their tasks for free.  Buddhism is non profit.  They do their tasks for free because they make the vows when chantings.  By doing so they have a lot of good karmas and merits.  One of buddhists' responsibility is to support Monks and Nuns by Almsgiving.  Almsgiving is buddhist's term like charity.  Some of the Monks in Florida have to go to work because there are not enough almsgiving from buddhists.  I pay, work and maintenance this website for free.  Any donations by Paypal on the homepage will be appreciated because I am poor and not rich.  When my finance is improved I can be able to work on this website faster and better.  There is no affiliate program on this website because I don't sell anything.  Anybody want to have much more merits and wisdom can put my website link in your website or blog.

        Q 22:  How do I become a Pureland buddhist?

A 22:  To become a buddhist you can see the answer 15 above and to practice Pure Land you can see the answer 16 above for reference.

Q 23:  The complete website on Pureland Buddhism

A 23:  The complete websites on Pure Land Buddhism in English that I know so far are the three websites I mentioned on A 20 above.  You can do some Google searches or click some links on Master Chin Kung website for more other websites on Pureland Buddhism.  I learn and practice Pure Land Buddhism mainly from teachings of Venerable Thich Hai Quang and Master Chin Kung from the three websites above.  So far I have had very good results.  Most of other Vietnamese too.  Counting to 2009, there were hundreds of Vietnamese people in Vietnam had been born into Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha.  I uploaded 20 videos of these Vietnamese around the time that they were born into Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha.  These videos are in BUDDHA's Teachings are TRUTH section of Buddhism video page.  They are all real.  When practicing Pureland, you should pay special attention to helps of reciting Amitabha Buddha's names from other people.  When you know exactly the time and date of being born to Pure Land from Amitabha Buddha, you should ask for at least two other persons to recite Amitabha Buddha's name with you.  This is very important.  The other very important thing you should remember when you nearly born into Pure Land is you should keep your mind pure, not think about anything else except for listening to Amitabha Buddha's names recited by yourself and others.  You see in the videos many other people reciting Amitabha Buddha's name to help a person to be born into Pure Land much better.  This person also recite Amitabha Buddha's name too by one of three ways:  Loudly, softly or in his/her mind.  I haven't been born into Pure Land yet, but when the time come, I will be born into Amitabha Buddha's Pure Land.

        Q 24:  Serious buddhist recitings

A 24:  Some essential Buddhist mantras, sutra and reciting are:  The Great Compassion Mantra of Avolokitesvara Bodhisattva, Heart of Perfect Wisdom Sutra, Om Mani Padme Hum Mantra, Spirit Mantra for Rebirth in the Pure Land and Amitabha Buddha's name.  For rebirth in the Pure Land, you should recite Spirit Mantra for Rebirth in the Pure Land, especially Amitabha Buddha's nameSpirit Mantra for Rebirth in the Pure Land, also called Dharani For Rooting Out Karmic Obstructions and For Being Reborn In the Pure Land:

Na mwo e mi dwo pwo ye
Dwo two chye dwo ye

E mi li dwo syi dan pwo pi
E mi li dwo pi jya lan di
E mi li dwo pi jya lan dwo
Chye mi li chye chye nwo
Jr dwo jya li
Swo pe he. (3X)

Q 25: Pure Land Buddhism for children

A 25: Pure Land Buddhism for children is the same for Pure Land Buddhism for adult. Pure Land is Buddha's teaching for everybody or any human beings. However because your child may want to be an adult to "enjoy life" or may soon get bored with Pure Land practice, you should find ways to make him have a firm belief in Pure Land and to practice Pure Land gradually. He or she can have a firm belief in Pure Land when you read Small Sutra (Sukhavati Vyuha Sutra), Larger Sutra (Larger Sukhavativyuha Sutra) and Contemplation Sutra for him or her to listen to in your own language. These three Sutras are three main Sutras of Pure Land. You can let your child view Small Sutra video and Larger Sutra video on this website and translate to them. You can let your child view real videos of real Vietnamese people reciting Amitabha Buddha's name and then be born in Pure Land. I have these videos in Buddhism videos section. The best thing you can do for your children in this life is to teach them Pure Land and let them practice Pure Land. It is greatly better than to raise them.

Q 26: Which Buddhist recite Amitabha Buddha's name?

A 26: Every Buddhist recites Amitabha Buddha's name if they know Buddhism well. Buddhists who don't want to be born in Pure Land yet but want tremendous benefits because of reciting Amitabha Buddha's name, they recite Amitabha Buddha's name. I translate these benefits from Vietnamese into English in the homepage. Buddhists who have great wisdom recite Amitabha Buddha's name to be born in Pure Land.

Q 27: Description of Western Pure Land (Pure Land)

A 27: You can read there main Sutras of Pure Land: Small Sutra, Larger Sutra and Contemplation Sutra either by text only or by text with illustration in this website. You can also view Small Sutra video and Larger Sutra video in this website to have description of Western Pure Land.

Q 28: Pure Land Buddhism at the mine

A 28: Pure Land Buddhism is Shakyamuni Buddha's teaching to every human being regardless of who he or she is. You can practice Pure Land anytime and anywhere. You can recite Amitabha Buddha's name in your mind, by your mouth in soft voice or normal voice. If you afraid that your way of practicing Pure Land is unusual to people, you can recite Amitabha Buddha's name in your mind and in quiet place where nobody see you. If you want to practice Pure Land in your free time in public, teach or share Pure Land teachings to people so they can believe too. Some of them may practice too. You should make your Faith and Vow(s) before small Amitabha Buddha statue on the altar first. The rest is the Practice of reciting Amitabha Buddha's name. If you don't have small Amitabha Buddha statue, you can kneel down and bow the Western sky. Amitabha Buddha is residing in his Western Pure Land in the West. When practicing Pure Land, you should recite Amitabha Buddha's name at least 10,000 times or more everyday. You shouldn't take long break of not reciting Amitabha Buddha's name, about more than one day. When you take a long break, the lotus that you will be born in Pure Land or your "parent(s)" in Pure Land will stop growing up. When you take a longer break, maybe one week or more, the lotus will stop blooming, growing up, radiating and begin to fade down. There is a true story for this problem: One guy wanted to practice Pure Land to be born in the Amitabha Buddha's Land. He practiced regularly. His lotus in Pure Land blooms, grows up, radiates gradually. Unfortunately, he got rich in his business and started to enjoy life. He got bored to Pure Land practice and didn't mind to practice Pure Land anymore. As a result, his lotus in Pure Land stopped blooming, growing up and radiating. It began to fade down. He lost an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live forever, has forever happiness and becomes a Buddha in Pure Land (after becoming a Buddha, this cultivator moves to His own Buddha's Land in the universe.)

You should take time to relax your mind between times of reciting Amitabha Buddha's name. When you relax your mind, don't think about anything or if possible, your other senses like eyes, ears, nose, tongue and body should stop contacting with outside environment like form, sound, smell, taste and touch. By this way, you won't get bored, get tired, get confused when you practice Pure Land. Your mind is purer. You have more respects to Buddha of yourself, in other words this is your Buddha Nature. You have more respects to Buddhas of ten directions in the universe when They recite Amitabha Buddha's name with you too. In summary, the ideal way of reciting Amitabha Buddha's name is this: Your recite Amitabha's Buddha's name many times, when you get tired then you should relax your mind, meditate shortly or long enough for your mind not being tired, then you resume reciting Amitabha Buddha's name many times, then give your mind a break by meditating, then continue to recite Amitabha Buddha's name many times, and so on.

Q 29:  How many life before becoming a Buddha?

A 29:  If you don't do any good deeds, maybe forever.  It takes shorter time if you belong to one of any other good religions and do good deeds in your religion.  When you belong to one of any other good religions, you probably belong to that religion again in your next life, but you probably not belong to Buddhism in your next life.  There is a true story to explain what I meant:  There was a senior Monk.  He was a Venerable and being as a Monk for more than 60 years.  But he liked to study Christianity many times.  He became a human being again in his next life but he was born in a Christian family and he belonged to Christianity.  It takes shorter time if you belong to Buddhism or practice some of Buddha's teachings in your life.  If you only belong to Buddhism but don't practice what Buddha's teachings, that doesn't count.  If you become a Buddhist, it takes shorter time to become a Buddha but you still have many lives, seem like forever to become a Buddha.  If you become a buddhist Monk, it takes shorter time but you have to practice like a Monk many lives before you can become a Buddha, seem like forever.  If you practice Pure Land or Pure Land Buddhism, you can become a Buddha in just one lifetime or much less.  In one Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha taught:  "When a person is born in Pure Land, that person become a Buddha.  Being born in Pure Land has the same meaning of becoming a Buddha."  When a person is born in Pure Land, he or she won't become a Buddha immediately.  Depending on your level of being born in Pure Land, with the best practices for your level in Pure Land, you will become a Buddha in the shortest time possible.  Buddhas and Bodhisattvas don't praise anybody for any good things that person has because Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have been there many times in their previous lives.  Buddhas and Bodhisattvas only praise people who practices Pure Land correctly.  Because by practicing Pure Land only, you have an opportunity to get out of endless cycles of death and rebirth.  When you see some of my pictures in the homepage that say "The third page that you should visit", you know Buddhas and Bodhisattvas praised me many times when I practice Pure Land correctly.

Q 30:  Pure Land buddhist religious services

A 30:  When you visit some of the Pure Land websites of Master Chin Kung, there are links of Pure Land buddhist religious services.  You can check those links to see which one has the nearest location to where you live.  You can visit there to become a Pure Land practicer.  You can also become a Pure Land Buddhist when you visit there.

Q 31:  Are there many different teachings for Pure Land Buddhism?

A 31:  There maybe different teachings for Pure Land in different countries or places because of different traditions or the ways of their Pure Land Masters want to preach.  But not much differences from the preachings of Shakyamuni Buddha in three main Pure Land Sutras:  Small Sutra, Larger Sutra and Contemplation Sutra.  There are five essential conditions for a Pure Land practicer to be born in Pure Land, they are:

1.  The 48 great vows of Amitabha Buddha decide for him or her to be born in Pure Land,

2.  The teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha about Pure Land decide for him or her to be born in Pure Land,

3.  The certify of Buddhas in the ten directions of the universe whether he or she practice Pure Land the right way.  Then they decide whether he or she can be born in Pure Land,

4.  The teachings of Pure Land Patriarch Thiện Đạo (this is how his name should be said in Vietnamese, I don't know his name in English) decide for him or her to be born in Pure Land (I will put his essential teachings of Pure Land here later),

5.  Pure Land practicer's firm belief in Pure Land decide for him or her to be born in Pure Land.

I practice Pure Land mainly by the teachings of Master Chin Kung and Venerable Thích Hải Quang.  You can refer to my A 20 of the Q 20 above for their websites addresses.  I trust them because their Buddhism wisdom is huge.  I trust them because their teachings of Buddhism make sense to me and I learn a lot from their teachings.  Most importantly, many people who practices Pure Land either by Ven. Thich Hai Quang's ways or Master Chin Kung's ways is born in Pure Land.  All of their real stories are verifiable by real videos, real articles honestly related by Monks and buddhists.  Ven. Thich Hai Quang and Master Chin Kung have great reputation.

Q 32:  Becoming a Pure Land buddhist Monk

A 32:  Anybody can practice Pure Land.  You don't have to become a buddhist or a Monk to practice Pure Land.  When you'd like to become a Buddhist you can refer to my A 15 of the Q 15 above for reference.  When you'd like to become a Monk you should go to a temple or a monastery.  When you become a Monk, your Pure Land practice will be limited because people support you by almsgivings so you must support them with their problems in life, their cultivations of Buddha's teachings and chant everyday then transfer part of the merits to them.  You may even asked to teach Dharma if you are good at Dharma.  When you teach Dharma including Pure Land, you must take full responsibilities for what you teach.

Q 33:  Amitabha (Amitabha Buddha) website

A 33:  Most information about Amitabha Buddha is preached by Shakyamuni Buddha in Larger Sutra.  Best Pure Land practices that are explained clearly are from Ven. Thich Hai Quang's website and Master Chin Kung's websites.  They are also translated into English.

Q 34:  Early life of Amitabha Buddha

A 34:  You can read about early life of Amitabha Buddha in the BUDDHA SPEAKS OF AMITAYUS SUTRA - THE LARGER SUKHAVATI VYUHA, also called THE LARGER SUTRA in this website.

Q 35:  Free Pure Land books

A 35:  I will upload some Pure Land Ebooks in the Buddhism Ebooks section later.
